'Christopher Gilmore (subduxtion, FluiD), is an American musician and producer. He is originally from Los Angeles, CA., and is now based in Kansas City, MO. Prior to moving to Kansas City, Christopher moved to Chicago, IL. It was in Chicago (2007) where subduxtion began. Sonically subduxtion is about mixing drone, dub, beats and electronics. Within that very specific framework, exists an enormous range of possibilities. While in Chicago, he released several tracks on various compilations and (1) EP. He eventually put the name/project on hiatus but upon his move to Kansas City, he revived the name/project. HIs sound lands squarely in the realm of experimental dub-techno. Dub has always been a significant part of the sound of subduxtion, he just needed a new way to engage with it. He also wanted to do something that was not as maximalist as his previous work. Dub-techno, if nothing else, is about minimalism and that really suits him. The other element of dub-techno that intrigued him is that there is plenty of room for experimentation; tempo, texture, composition, and song length all are open.
In addition to his many releases (Milligrid Records, Citrica Records, DUBGIU Records and Zero Signal Records), Christopher has performed throughout North America and Central America. He has been a featured performer at several music festivals including, ‘experi-MENTAL Festival’ (Brooklyn, NY.), ‘Noise Shock: Abstract Art and Music Festival’ (East Moline, IL.), ‘Under the Radar – experimental/industrial/electronic music exposition’ (Kansas City, MO.) and ‘Spark: Festival of Electronic Music and Arts’ (Minneapolis, MN.).'
